Vice Chancellor's Message

Mehran University of Engineering & Technology, Jamshoro, Pakistan has a proud history and a tradition which spans more than 20 years. Our University embraces most of the disciplines to be found at universities and we are energetically pursuing many of the new intellectual openings for academic institution. Many of our major areas of research ranging from conventional fields to modern and most modern fields are all product oriented.

This is important to would be undergraduates because we believe strongly that it is the essence of a university to set teaching in the context of active research. 

We are very conscious of all our responsibilities to students. These extend beyond the main task of providing advanced education and training to attending to their welfare while they are with us and equipping them in all respects for subsequent successful careers. Recognizing the rapidly changing economic circumstances facing the graduate today, we are not complacent about the fact that the success of our graduates in obtaining employment is well above the national average for universities.

Determined to do even better, we have launched a comprehensive review of our curricula and our career advisory services to ensure that our students are given every possible chance to apply their academic achievement in productive careers. We are trying hard to ensure that Engineering graduates are familiar with computing and that engineers are both literate and articulate. This is but one way in which we help students profit from the varied, rigorous and enjoyable programs of study, sports and other activities that we offer.

0 HEC releases Pakistan's top universities lists

HEC releases its first ever ranking of all the 136 public and private universities in Pakistan.

LAHORE: The Higher Education Commission (HEC) on Thursday revealed the first-ever national academic ranking of universities, with Quaid-e-Azam University in Islamabad leading and Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) landing at the 10^th position in the overall list.

The ranking model has been developed by HEC’s Quality Assurance Committee (QAC) through stakeholder participation.

The ranking is based on the number of students, research productivity and quality, innovation and knowledge transfer, infrastructure, annual graduate output, international collaborations, student satisfaction and financial health of the institution.

The overall ranking is as follows:
